New order form “From other Search Result” for PubMed Records

06. July 2009

As of July 15th 2009, FIZ AutoDoc provides a new and convenient way of ordering documents from PubMed via the order option ”From other Search Result”.

  • From now on, it is no longer necessary to re-enter the bibliographical data manually to place an order for search results from PubMed.
  • The following PubMed Display formats can be used in FIZ AutoDoc:
    Summary *1, Medline *1, Abstract *2, Abstract Plus *2, Citation *2.
    *1   recommended
    *2   source field
  • Simply copy the bibliographical data of the PubMed record into the free text field of the order form ”From other Search Result” and click "Parse Search Result”. The PubMed record is analysed and, if successful, its bibliographical data are automatically transferred into the corresponding fields of the journal article order form. After double-check of these data, choose or enter further delivery options and click "Proceed" to continue the ordering process.
  • PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Institutes of Health and includes over 18 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles dating back to 1948.
  • Other comfortable ways of ordering documents in FIZ AutoDoc are the "from STN Search Results" option (for bibliographical references from STN databases) and the “via DOI Query” option (using a Digital Object Identifier) released in 2008.
  • We intend to introduce more easy-to-use and convenient order options in the future. Therefore, we invite you to send us your proposals for any further convenient order options you would like to use in FIZ AutoDoc. Please send you suggestions to: products(at)fiz-karlsruhe(dot)de .
  • Please note: The order form "From other Search Result” is only available as default for regular customers. Corporate customers may need to contact the administrator to activate this feature.
