Analysis of spinel compounds in ICSD

ICSD enables scientists to search for text in titles in combination with chemical compound information, e.g., compound classes which cannot be described through specific compound information such as the molecular formula. An interesting example for such a compound class is provided by the spinel compounds.

International Year of Crystallography 2014

"… Recognizing that humankind's understanding of the material nature of our world is grounded, in particular, in our knowledge of crystallography…",
the UN have, with their resolution 66/284, decided to name 2014 the International Year of Crystallography.  FIZ Karlsruhe supports this initiative with various activities related to its Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD) – the world's largest database with completely identified and published crystal structure data.
