New Feature: Duplicate Order Check

24. November 2015

FIZ AutoDoc now offers you the option to identify and avoid any duplicate orders!

As soon as you want to place an order for the same document twice or several times using the same loginID, this order is identified as a duplicate order on personal level and you are notified on the “Order Details” screen that you have already ordered the same document before:

  • by a special headline message which includes the number of your previous order and a link to the details of this previous order.
  • by a new, separate “Duplicate Order Check” section at the bottom of the page which indicates “Personal Level: YES” and the number of the previous order including a link to the details of this previous order.

By clicking the linked order number, you are automatically directed to the “Order History Details” screen of your previous order. There are no costs involved with this linking procedure.

Alternatively, you can of course place a new order for the same document (by clicking “Submit Order” or “Purchase Now”). In this case, the document order is processed as usual and all regular document delivery fees incur.

Please note:

  • The duplicate order check matches your current document order against all your previous orders with status “shipped” or “billed” placed during the last 24 months with the same loginID.
  • It only applies to orders for journal articles (independent of the order form used), which are processed automatically by the FIZ AutoDoc system.
  • It is not applied to any eJournal, inhouse or manual orders.

You are notified on the “Order Details” screen that you have already ordered the same document before.

Special information for corporate end users:

  • The duplicate order check feature is only available as default for standard FIZ AutoDoc customers. As a corporate end user, you may need to contact your FIZ AutoDoc administrator to activate this feature.
  • There may be two different levels of duplicate order checks available for your company:
    • Personal Level (i.e., the optional re-routing to the “Order History Details” screen of your previous order, see above)
      and/or
    • Account Level (i.e., an internal document procurement workflow from a colleague via your internal FIZ AutoDoc administrator. This option is only available to FIZ AutoDoc PLUS or PREMIUM customers).

For more information about your corporate workflow, please contact your local FIZ AutoDoc administrator.
