1. DDFU / DRUGU - NEW ALERT AVAILABILITY

The current-awareness alerts, SDIs, in the Derwent Drug Files, DDFU (for non-subscribers) and DRUGU (for subscribers), are now available every update (weekly) or monthly. Every update is the default. See HELP COST in the files for pricing information.

The Database Summary Sheets are available on the Web on our Database List.

2. DERWENT WPI AND DPCI - NEW MONTHLY SDI ALERT AVAILABILITY

Since 1st June 2001, it is possible to specify a monthly frequency for the automatic current awareness feature (SDI) in the Derwent World Patents Index files (WPIX, WPIDS and WPINDEX) and in the Patents Citation Index (DPCI)database. This is in addition to the SDI frequency already available which is every time the files are updated.

The introduction of this new monthly SDI frequency allows users who currently input the same search manually each month the option to have their search run automatically.

The current-awareness alerts, SDIs, are now available every update (2-3 times per week) or monthly.

For further information on how an SDI can help you keep track of patenting activity please visit
http://www.derwent.com/dwpireference/stn_alert.html

See HELP COST in DPCI for pricing information.
For detailed information on setting up an SDI enter "HELP SDI" online.

The Database Summary Sheets are available on the Web on our Database List.

3. PHAR - SUBSCRIBER DISCOUNT

PJB Publications, Ltd., has implemented a subscriber discount in the PHAR file on STN. Anyone currently subscribing to Pharmaprojects at their site in hard copy or electronic format is eligible for the discount. With the help of PJB, CAS has already applied the discount to qualifying subscribers beginning with April's usage in PHAR.

If you are not receiving the discount, please fax your complete name, address, and STN Account Number to CAS Customer Service at +1-614-447-3751 or send an email to help(at)cas(dot)org.

U.S. patent applications are now available in USPATFULL, retroactive to March 15, 2001, when the USPTO began to publish U.S. patent applications. U.S. patent applications can be distinguished by their Kind Code, A1. Kind codes are now searchable in the Patent Kind Code (/PK) field. Search USA1/PK to find U.S. patent applications. See HELP KIND in USPATFULL for additional Kind Code information. The current-awareness alerts, SDIs, in USPATFULL are now available weekly, monthly, or every update (twice per week). Weekly is the default. See HELP COST in USPATFULL for pricing information.
