All three databases are equipped with well-known thesauri which help finding relevant terms. Their auto suggest feature fills in terms that are actually in the thesaurus when being typed in by the user. M. Cudaj | Structure searching for natural products with common frameworks like ß-lactam antibiotics can be easily conducted in the new STN platform. New STN provides the value-added databases CAplus and Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI), and their corresponding resources for chemical names and structures, REGISTRY and the Derwent Chemistry Resource (DCR). This short session uses a structure search example to demonstrate the content and advantages of CAplus, DWPI, REGISTRY and DCR within new STN. Both the REFX and SUBX operators are reviewed, showing how to retrieve all references for a certain chemical substance, and vice versa. This session also covers the features and benefits of Filters to help refine search results, and the Term Explorer to efficiently identify and search thesaurus keywords and synonyms from the CAS Lexicon. |
